I think I know what you’re going to say when you read this.
“Yeah, okay. We’ve heard this before. It’s getting boring now.”
So I’ll spare you the often quoted line about how one image is worth 1,000 words and go straight on to telling you WHY it’s often quoted and WHAT I’m going to offer you.
If you’ve read my previous blogs you’ll know all about the importance of using images and other visual tools such as videos to promote your content.
Here’s a scenario: you’re standing in the middle of a crowd in Hyde Park and you need to grab somebody’s attention on the other side of the park.
How would you do that?
You could wave a flag or shout through a megaphone to get yourself noticed.
Now think about how you’d do that online. It’s just as crowded and everyone’s competing with you to get noticed.
Consider your Twitter feed. What stands out the most?
Personally, I’m always drawn to tweets with photos or pictures attached. They just pop out at you and grab your attention, don’t they?
That’s exactly what images do:-
- Images are more engaging
- They can convey a message in a very succinct way
- A website or blog is more appealing with beautiful images and is more likely to be read than paragraphs of plain text
- Images are ‘sharable’ across social media platforms which increases your reach
- Images can be customised so that they are unique to you and your brand
So we’ve established that you need to use visual content within your blog, your website or on social media.
How do you go about doing this?
You’ll often hear bloggers recommending certain websites from which you can buy images. They are beautiful and are often just what you need, but they’re incredibly expensive.
As a small business you can’t afford to pay £75.00 for one image.

“But I’m not a designer!”
“I don’t have a creative bone in my body”.
I’ve heard this said many times before and it’s a myth which I’m going to dispel right now.
You CAN be creative, it’s just a case of know HOW.
For a limited period of time I’m offering you the chance to watch some bite-sized videos FREE of charge. I’ll show you exactly how you can design beautiful pictures for your own use, either on your blog, your website, or for other business purposes.
I’m going to have a bit of fun and use Halloween as a theme.
You don’t need to spend any money on design apps either because I’m going to be using my favourite, go-to image creation tool, PicMonkey.
So why not SIGN UP now as time is limited and as an extra bonus I’ll send you three Halloween invitation templates which you can use for your own purposes (two for the kids and one for you!)
